An independent pre-K publisher

Little stories for
the first big years.

Valleroi North publishes phonics and social-emotional storybook ebooks for children ages three and four — the years when reading, feelings and self-trust all start at once. Warm, uncluttered pages a caregiver can finish in a single sitting.

§ ITwo pillars, one library
The two things a pre-K child is learning

Ready for their first letters — and their first big feelings.

Every Valleroi North title lives in one of two pillars. Pick one to start, or read them side by side; the second builds on the first.

IPhonics & first words

Letters heard before they're named.

Letter-sound recognition, sight-word repetition, and rhyming rhythm — always inside a story, never as drill. Each title zeroes in on one focus sound cluster.

  • 26 letter-focused stories, one per phoneme
  • Bold, uncluttered typography (dyslexia review pending)
  • Two-page "trace & say" at the end of every title
Titles No. 01, 03, 05, 07 Aligned to NAEYC pre-K
IISocial-emotional learning

Feelings, named and made room for.

Naming feelings, calm-down routines, sharing, waiting, being new. Every story centers a small animal or child working through a very three-year-old-sized problem.

  • Aligned to CASEL's five SEL competency areas
  • Caregiver page: what to notice, what to ask
  • "Feeling flashcards" print sheet with every title
Titles No. 02, 04, 06, 08 Aligned to CASEL 5

§ IIIPeek inside
A page from Big Feelings, Small Hands

What a Valleroi spread actually looks like.

Two facing pages of story, then a caregiver note that names the moment and offers one thing to ask. That's the whole rhythm of the book.

A child's hands rest on an open picture book, with warm home lighting and colorful illustrations on the pages. Spread from Big Feelings, Small Hands
i

One idea, held gently.

Every spread lands one idea a three-year-old can hold — no side plots, no timely puns for the adult reader.

ii

Illustration as calm-down.

Warm, softly-shaped scenes with breathing room. The palette repeats across each title so the child recognizes a Valleroi book on sight.

iii

A caregiver note, right on the page.

Not a separate parent guide at the back. Advice appears exactly where you need it, in the moment you'll want it.

§ IVThe editorial circle
The people who read the drafts

Every title is reviewed by two working pre-K educators before it goes to layout.

Their notes shape the caregiver spread and the pacing guide, and their names appear in the finished title. The circle rotates each season; we always work with practicing teachers.

Nadia H.

Lead Editor · NAEYC-affiliated

"A three-year-old's attention is a gift. Don't waste it on being clever."

II

Jordan M.

SEL Reviewer · CASEL alignment

"Every big feeling deserves at least one page where nothing else happens."

III

Alma R.

Illustrator · Cover & interiors

"The illustration should look like it was made by a very calm adult, not a very talented child."

IV

Devon O.

Family childcare provider

"If it doesn't fit in fifteen minutes, it doesn't fit in circle time."

Names shown are placeholders; full photographed circle publishes at launch. Our editorial process is described here.

§ VIReasonable questions
Questions we get

Small answers to reasonable questions.

Who is Valleroi North for, exactly?

Parents, grandparents and caregivers of children ages three and four, plus pre-K teachers and daycare directors running programs for the same age. The stories are read to the child, not by the child.

Are the ebooks printable?

Yes. Every PDF is laid out to print cleanly on standard letter-size paper (folded booklet or single-sided). We do not sell physical copies.

How does the classroom license work?

One purchase covers one site (a single daycare, pre-K program or homeschool co-op) for the lifetime of the ebook — no annual renewal. See the daycare page for pricing tiers.

Do you collect data about children?

No. We sell to adults. We do not build profiles of, or ask questions of, children under thirteen. See our privacy notice.

Do you have Spanish or bilingual titles?

Not yet. Two bilingual EN/ES SEL titles are in production for the second season (late 2026). If your program needs them sooner, let us know — the sooner we hear demand the sooner we ship.

One shelf, forever
